Kay Gunter AKIMA Thomson, GA - Mrs. Virginia Kay Gunter, 58, of Happy Valley Rd. entered into rest November 22, 2010. She was the beloved wife of Darrell Gunter. Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Thigpen officiating. Mrs. Gunter was born in Bennettsville, SC but lived in McDuffie County, Georgia since 1984. She was the daughter of the late Phillip T. Herndon and the late Virginia Rich Herndon Rogers. She worked as Lead Entitlements Counselor for AKIMA Transportation Department at Ft. Gordon for over 20 years. Mrs. Gunter was Baptist by faith. Survivors include her husband, Darrell Gunter; sons, Robert Gunter and wife Michelle, Scott Gunter; daughter, Amy Gunter Gantt and husband, Travis all of Thomson, GA; sisters, Gloria H. Ramsey, Charlotte, NC, Betsy H. Collins, Troy, NC; grandchildren, Hannah Marie Gunter, Aaron Matthew Gantt and Easton Travis Gantt. Mrs. Gunter was preceded in death by a sister, Phylis Herndon Furr.
