Katie L. Hoats
Mrs. Katie L. Hoats, 66, of King Street, Thomson, GA entered into rest February 17, 2015 at University Hospital, Augusta.
Mrs. Hoats grew up in Wrens, Georgia and was the daughter of the late John Lewis Rogers and the late Kate Clements Rogers. She graduated from Wrens High School and Augusta Technical College. Mrs. Hoats lived in Thomson most of her life and was a faithful and devoted member of Sweetwater Baptist Church where she was active in WMU, Acteens, and had taught Sunday School for many years. She was retired from the Department of Family and Children Services as a para professional accountant.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 45 years, Lewis Hoats; daughters, Heather Lake and husband, Matt, Amanda Chester and husband, Matt; brother, Byrd Rogers; grandchildren, Case Lake, Weston Chester, Jack Lake and Parker Chester.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Sweetwater Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Dendler officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
It is the family's desire that memorial contributions be made to the Sweetwater Baptist Church Renovation Fund, 1606 Wrens Hwy., Thomson, Georgia 30824.
Friends may call the residence at 315 King Street, Thomson or from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
