Karen Joan (Schnepp) Stafford

Karen Joan Schnepp Stafford, 73, of Lincolnton, passed away on August 27th, 2025 at her residence.. She was born June 26, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Joan Gertrude Allen Ruth and Joseph Schnepp.

Karen worked in quality control with Progrow McCormick and later part-time at Lake Crossing. She was a strong-willed woman who prided herself on being surrounded by family and finding happiness in life. She never met a stranger and was known for her welcoming spirit. A lover of cats and antiques, Karen lived life to the fullest and will be remembered for her enthusiastic presence and love of family.

She is survived by her children, Jay (Jamie) Stafford and Kelly (Wendell) Inglett; her grandchildren, Chace (Haley) Scarboro, Austin (Jennifer) Scarboro, Draven Wolfe, Chloe (Christopher) Acuna, and Kayden Stafford; and her great-grandchildren, Rosella Scarboro, Charlotte Scarboro, Celine Scarboro, and Emerson Acuna.

She was preceded in death by her mother Joan Ruth; her stepfather; Jesse Ruth; her father, Joseph Schnepp, her sister, Susan Schnepp; aunt Patricia Derewall; and her son-in-law, Richard Wayne Scarboro.

In her final days, Karen was surrounded by the love and support of her immediate family and friends, just as she wished. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Karla and Chloe of Bristol Hospice for their compassionate care.

In accordance with her wishes, no funeral service will be held. A private memorial will take place with immediate family at a later date. The family will receive visitors at the home of Jay and Jamie Stafford this Thursday and Friday. .
