Thomson, GA - Mr. Julian David Ogletree, 74, of Warrenton Hwy. entered into rest September 26, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 29, 2012 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Holbrook and Rev. Grant Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Ogletree was a native of McDuffie County, Georgia and was the son of the late Verne Ogletree and the late Marjorie Holzendorf Ogletree. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard and was retired as a Conductor with CSX Railroad with 37 years service. Mr. Ogletree was also a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Ogletree; sons, Rodney Ogletree of Augusta, David Ogletree of Thomson; daughter, Vicki Wescott of Jacksonville; brother, Joe Ogletree of Thomson; sister, Margie Ann Wilson of Kentucky; grandchildren, Dylan Wescott, Katelyn Ogletree, Sophie Ogletree, and Brayden Weets. He was preceded in death by a son, Phillip David Ogletree.
Mrs. Ogletree and her family would like to extend a very special thank you to Chaplin Rick, Amanda, Ann and all who assisted us during this time. Alliance Hospice showed such wonderful care and compassion, not only for Mr. Ogletree, but for our whole family and we are so grateful to each of you.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2012 at the funeral home.
