T-SGT. Julian Thomas Dent, Sr., US Air Force Retired, 87 of White Oak Rd. entered into rest Sunday, February 7, 2016 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Double Branches Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Etheridge officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m. until the hour of the service in the church social hall.
Mr. Dent, son of the late Francis E. and Laura Wilson Dent, was a native of Wilkinson County. He joined the US Army in 1946 and served 9 years before enlisting in the US Air Force and retired in 1967. Following retirement, in 1971, he took a job as fire marshal with the State of Georgia. In 1975, he and his wife, Diana, moved to the Double Branches Community of Lincoln County and after 20 years of service with the State, he retired in 1991. He has been a faithful member of Double Branches Baptist Church where he had served as a Trustee, and Brotherhood and Training Union Director. His grandson, Gaylan Tankersley, preceded him in death.

Daughter: Reba D. Tankersley and significant other, Mr. Lyn Nasworth of Swainsboro
Brothers: Bill Dent, Cartersville and Herbert Dent, Sandersville
Grandchildren: Sykora T. Cobb, Agan Tankersley, Julian T. "Thomas" Dent, III
and Ashley Dent
Great- grandchildren: Liliana Cobb, Lance Cobb, and McKenleigh Tankersley
