Julia Lee (Mcmanus) Abbott

Julia "Judy" Lee McManus Abbott, 84 passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, in her hometown of Greenwood, South Carolina. Born on November 15, 1940, in the same close-knit community, Judy's life was a testament to her unwavering love for her family and her enduring spirit. The daughter of the late Thomas Otto and Ruby Carter McManus, she graduated from Greenwood High School in 1958. Judy's two daughters Sonya and Wanda were the highlight of her life only eclipsed by her love of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Siloam Baptist Church where she enjoyed attending the T.E.L. Sunday School Class and the WMU. Above all, Judy cherished the time spent with her friends and family. She was always seeking opportunities to gather her grandchildren around her by any means necessary. Her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Survived by her daughters, Wanda A. Tafta and husband Randy and Sonya A. Calhoun and husband Julius; great grandson Cooper Calhoun, grandson Greyson Calhoun and wife Gracy, grandson Jerod Tafta and wife Jordan, great grandchildren Elias,  Ruby, Phineas, Ira, grandson Steven Tafta and wife Lacie and great grandchild Willow Tafta, grandson Nicholas Tafta, children, Wade Abbott and wife Nancy, Gail Nicholson, Gerald Abbott and wife Timi, Sandra Lockaby and husband Derrell, Joan Timmerman and husband Bones, Mark Abbott and wife Jody along with more grand, great and great great grandchildren. She also leaves behind cherished cousin (sister's) Cheryl Griffith, Jo Shealy, Lynn Fleming and special Sister n law Mary Proctor.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Abbott, Brother, Danny McManus, son, Steve Abbott, daughter, Dianne Abbott and grandson, Chad Calhoun.

Her funeral will be held at Siloam Baptist Church in Greenwood, SC on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at 2 PM with the visitation from 1 PM until the time of the service in the church sanctuary.  The interment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens in Hodges, SC.
