Judie Michelle Whitener

Judie Michelle Whitener, 44, of Crook Rd., Lincolnton entered into rest on Thursday, April 23, 2026, in Augusta, Georgia. Born on May 27, 1981 in Augusta, she grew up in Wilkes County and was a 2001 graduate of Washington Wilkes Comprehensive High School. Throughout her life, she remained true to herself—often speaking her mind with honesty and courage, endearing her to many with a personality described as "a piece of work" but always filled with compassion.

Judie's passions extended beyond her profession as a caregiver and babysitter. She cherished dining out, enjoyed the soulful melodies of country music, and found joy in the companionship of her two beloved Jack Russells, Shorty and Nettie Lou. These simple pleasures spoke to her love for life and the meaningful connections she fostered with those around her.

She is survived by her loving father, Kerry Whitener, and Jan; mother, Patricia Blackburn Kennedy; her son, Mitch Young, along with his wife Jessica of Lincolnton; grandchildren Wynslie Beck Young, Waylon Young, and Willa James Young; brother, David Whitener and wife, Amy of Virginia Beach; step-siblings Carla Dornberg, Mandy Rogers, and Charles Dornberg.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 11 o’clock a.m. at Tignall Independence Church Cemetery, 247 Independence Street, Tignall, Georgia. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6pm pm - 8pm at the funeral home.
