Joyce Hightower

Mrs. Joyce Morris Hightower, 81 of Thomson Hwy., entered into rest on Wednesday, April 5 ^th at University McDuffie Medical Center, Thomson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 8 ^th at 1 pm at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Interment with Order of Eastern Star Rites will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Hightower, daughter of the late David S. and Inez Parton Morris, was born in Toombs County, and had lived in Martinez, Ga before  moving to Lincoln County in 1966.

She had retired from the finance dept. at Ft. Gordon, worked at JC Penney and in recent years worked at Papa's Pizza in Lincolnton. She was a member of  St. Paul United Methodist Church and Homer Legg #535 Order of Eastern Star. Her husband, Lanier "Slim" Hightower  and brother, Fritz Morris, preceded her in death.

Survivors: Son, Lanier "Lanny" Hightower, Jr.; daughter, Wanda Hightower; grandchildren, Gail H. Saint, David Hightower; and great- grandchildren, Chase Saint, Alleya Saint, Brian Newton, Monica Waggoner, and Makynna Waggoner.
