Mrs. Joyce Norman Bentley, affectionately known as "Mammy" of Lincoln Ave. entered into rest Friday, March 7 th at Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington. She was 85years old.
Mrs. Bentley, daughter of the late Carlton L. and Della Ware Norman, was a born in the Midway community of Lincoln County on June 10, 1928. She has been a lifelong resident of Lincoln County, operated a daycare for over 35 years from her home and was a dedicated member of Midway United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack "J.B." Bentley, her brothers, Harvey Norman, Allen Norman, and sisters, Marian Fagan, and Ada Wright.

Son: Kevin Bentley, and wife, Kathy of Lincolnton
Sisters:
Mrs. Margaret Parks, Lincolnton
Mrs. Katherine Wheatley and husband, Stanley of Washington
Mrs. Jackie Butler and husband, Claude of Lincolnton
Grandchildren: Cherish Smith and Bailey Bentley
The family would like to thank her nurses, April, Denise, Gloria and Melissa, that cared for her over the past few years.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 9 th at 3 p.m. at Midway United Methodist Church with Rev. David Bohling officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
