Joseph Estil Tomes, 54, Hephzibah, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on February 24, 2022.

Joseph was born in Danville, Kentucky, on January 29, 1968, and moved to Augusta, Georgia when he was young and lived and worked in the Augusta area for most of his life.  He was a diesel mechanic who worked on all types of vehicles and loved building hot rods.  Joseph also earned an Associate's Degree in Agriculture and loved traveling. He was Christian by faith and especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Charles Tomes and his brother, Clinton Bradley Tomes.  His survivors include his wife, Amy MacKendree Tomes; his mother, Sandra Marie Snellings Chavous; his son, Joseph Tomes, Jr.; his step-son James Rich; his step-daughters, Amber Walker and Allison Walker; his brothers, Bruce Tomes and Lawrence Chavous; and his sister, Sheila Gaddy.
