Johnnie Scott

Johnnie Calhoun Scott, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 24, 2022, just one day after his 70th wedding anniversary with his beloved wife, JoAnn Scott.

He was born in Abbeville, SC, the son of the late Walter and Minnie Kirby Scott and the youngest of eight children. JC, as he was called by family and friends, retired from Greenwood Mills after 25 years of service. Retirement didn't last long as he went back to work numerous times as long as his health allowed. His hobbies included working on his old truck, fishing, traveling, their annual backyard summer garden, but most of all, spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. As his dementia progressed and he required more assistance, he never forgot to say, "Thank you for all you do for me."

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Scott of Greenwood, SC, son Johnnie Scott of Greenwood, SC, daughter Joy Bonds (Terry) of Lincolnton, GA, daughter Jan Scott of Greenwood, SC, grandsons Allen Bonds (Nick Rountree) of Charleston, SC, Jason Bonds of Lincolnton, GA, Gage Drummond of Greenwood, SC, granddaughter Morgan Kelley of Greenwood, SC, and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 26th, at 2pm at First Assembly of God, 328 May Avenue, Lincolnton, GA with Reverends Terry Bonds and Lanis Lewis presiding. Visitation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Benevolent Fund.
