Johnnie Shelton Rowe, 71, of Clay Hill Rd., Lincolnton, entered rest on December 23, 2025, at his residence. He was born on January 29, 1954, in Nashville, Georgia, to the late the late Eston Rowe and Emolois Hendley Rowe. Johnnie touched the lives of many with his kind spirit and unwavering affection.
Johnnie graduated from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, a testament to his dedication and hard work. He embarked on a career at Savannah River Site for 10 years. Later, Johnnie was employed as a sales representative for Royal Brass and Hose out of Knoxville, TN, where he thrived for many years.
A vibrant part of Johnnie's life was his deep love for bluegrass music. He spent countless hours attending bluegrass festivals, immersing himself in the sounds and rhythms that brought him pure joy. A self-taught musician, he mastered the mandolin, bass, and guitar, often delighting friends and family with impromptu "parking lot picking" sessions that would last into the night. His passion for music was infectious, inviting others to share in his enjoyment and creating lasting memories.
Johnnie is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Charlotte, and their two daughters, Missy Ford and Angie Childree; grandchildren, Evan Harrison and his wife Brittany, Angel Edwards and her husband Matt, and James Childree; great-grandchild, Gracelynne "Little Bit" Burdette.Johnnie also leaves behind his twin brother, Ronnie Rowe and another brother, Earl Rowe, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.
In addition to his parents, Johnnie was preceded in death by his sister, LaQuietta Purvis, a sister-in-law, Sybil Rowe, and a son-in-law, Greg Ford.
A visitation will be held Sunday, January 4, 2026 from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville, Georgia. There will be a graveside service following the visitation at Rowetown Cemetery, Alapaha, Georgia.
