It pleased God Almighty to call from labor to reward our loved one, John Wesley Smith, on Monday, November 28, 2022. John was born to the parentage of the late Mr. Charlie Jr. and Geneva Blackmon Smith on January 28, 1960, in Lincolnton, Georgia.

John confessed and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and joined the New Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lincolnton, GA. He attended school in Lincoln County and graduated with the class of 1978. After finishing high school, he started work and was employed with BILO in Washington, GA for over 30 plus years where he retired. John enjoyed spending quality time with his two brothers, Willie, John T. "Buck", Aunt Gladys, and friends. He also enjoyed going out to eat and attending his church.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Lee Smith (Mary) and David Smith. John Wesley leaves to cherish his memory two brothers; Willie R. Smith and John "Buck" Smith, both of Lincolnton; aunts, devoted Aunt Gladys Smith Ferguson (Dave), Emma R. Dooley, Idell Andrews, Mary Andrews, and Glenda D. McCord, all of Lincolnton, Juanita Smith and Nancy Smith both of Atlanta, GA, Leila Smith of Baltimore, MD; uncle, Roy Smith (Pennie) of Atlanta, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,  and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at 1:30 pm at New Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6pm until 7pm at the funeral home.
