John A. Thigpen

John A. Thigpen National Homes Thomson, Georgia- Mr. John A. Thigpen, 85, of Nobel Street entered into rest December 16, 2010. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Westview Cemetery with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating. Mr. Thigpen was born in Glascock County, Georgia, but lived in McDuffie County, Georgia most of his life. He was the son of the late Will Thigpen and the late Lula Newsome Thigpen. Mr. Thigpen was retired from National Homes as a carpenter. He was a Methodist by faith. Survivors include his wife, Mary "Dot" Thigpen, Thomson; step son, Carl Dye, Thomson; step daughter, Faye D. Callaway, Tignall; grandchildren, Shelly C. Ferrell, Tom Callaway; nieces and nephew, Hazel Sheppard, Mary Ellen Cato, Evyon Cox and William Thigpen.
