Mr. John (Jay) William Seymour, Jr., 48, of Columbia completed his earthly journey on December 14, 2015 and entered into his life with his Lord and Savior at Palmetto Richland Health Center.  He was born December 29, 1966 to Ann Davis Seymour.

Jay graduated from Greenwood High School, Greenwood, SC in 1985; he graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1990 and also received his MBA from the University of South Carolina.  He was employed in the Child Support Services for the Department of Social Services in Columbia.  He was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council and as a confirmation leader.  He loved the youth and enjoyed working with them.  Jay was also active in the Kairos Ministry which is a mission program within the SC Prison System.  He loved his church, his church family, his own family, the Cubs, Alabama football, and the SC Gamecocks.  He enjoyed all sports, especially baseball.

Jay is survived by his mother, Ann Davis Seymour of McCormick; his brother, Robert D. (Roby) Seymour and wife Amy of Lincolnton, GA; his niece, Kerri D. Seymour and her fiancé, Preston Parton of Lincolnton; his nephew, Andrew (Drew) Seymour of Lincolnton; his great-nephew, Ethan W. Parton of Lincolnton; a special friend, Joyce Outlaw of Columbia and the entire Wilson family of Camden & Lugoff, SC; and a devoted caregiver, Pearline Harris.  Jay is also survived by his father, John W. Seymour, Sr. and wife Judy, and half-brother, Jeremy Seymour all of Decatur, Alabama.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, December 16 ^th from 6:30pm until 8:00pm at the Buffalo Baptist Church, Highway 28, McCormick, SC.  The memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 17 ^th at 4:00pm from St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Broad River Road, Columbia, SC with Rev. John Trump and Vicar Todd Cook officiating.  The family will be at the home of Ann D. Seymour, 306 South Maple Street, McCormick, SC.
