John-Paul (J.P.) West

John-Paul West, 45, passed unexpectedly on January 3, 2022, at Rome Health Hospital.  He was born on October 11, 1976, in Augusta, GA. The son of John A. West (preceded in death) and Kathy Harris West Snyder and stepfather, Duke Snyder.  Growing up in a military family, he moved throughout the United States. When he came of age, he decided to make roots in Augusta, GA, with the guidance of his Aunt and Uncle, Carolyn Lord and C.A. Lord.  That same year, 1994, he earned his GED at Augusta Technical College. Two years later, he went on to completing HVAC classes.  In 2010, he earned his EPA certification and his 410a certification. In 2015, while working at Fort Gordon as the Supervisor of Maintenance and Repair AGS, he achieved his lifelong dream of owning and operating his own company, West Property Maintenance, Inc.  He is survived by his wife, Katelyn Rae Reeves West, of Gibson, GA; mother, Kathy Harris West Snyder, of North Augusta, SC; son, Jesse Green (Christina), of Japan; son, Jacob Vann, of Holly Hill, SC; daughter, Julianna West (Brody), of Thomson, GA; sister, Justina West, of Afton, NY; brother, Joseph-Daniel West, of North Augusta, SC; sister, Jinnie-Marie Benedict (Kevin), of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Nelson John Abreu (Mackenzie), of Omaha, NE; 3 grandchildren; several nieces and nephew. Pallbearers will be Jacob Vann, Joseph-Daniel West, Kevin Benedict, Don Forsmark, James Weir and Mike Armstrong.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Beggs Funeral Home and his funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia and will be officiated by Rev.
