John M. "Marty" Warther,

John Martin Warther, Jr. Lincolnton, GA John Martin "Marty" Warther, Jr. of Miami Drive entered into rest on July 20, 2012 at Lake Crossing Nursing Home in Appling, GA. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 26th at 2:30 p.m. from the Georgia Veterans Cemetery in Milledgeville with full military honors accorded. Mr. Warther, a native of Baltimore, MD but had lived in Lincolnton over twenty years. He attended Washington College in Chestertown, MD, was a member of Theta Chi fraternity, and until 1968 had officiated football games at every level of play from Junior High to the National Football League. He was a Navy veteran, and had retired from DuPont as a sales specialist. He was the former owner/operator of Farmers Supply in McCormick, SC. Survivors include his wife, Jane List Warther; two sons Mark Warther, Columbia, SC and Jon Warther, Walhalla, SC, two daughters, Marsha W. deFontes, Cary, NC and Janine W.
