John "Johnny" Martin Pavlich

John Martin Pavlich, affectionately known as Johnny, died on January 21, 2025, at his home in Lincolnton, Georgia, just shy of his 81st birthday. Born on January 26, 1944, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of the late Martin Pavlich and Mildred Bradler Pavlich. He is survived by his wife, Kitten (Carol Ann); his daughter, Kris Shea, and her husband, Patrick, of Decatur, and grandsons, Gavin Shea and Colin Shea; and his sister, Kathy Felton Eason of Augusta; Nieces and nephews, Donna Felton, Stephen Felton, Sam Felton, and his wife Stephanie.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Pavlich.

Johnny spent his early years in Pennsylvania, where he developed a deep appreciation for the value of hard work. He attended Richmond Academy in Augusta, where his family had moved during his childhood. His patriotism led him to serve his country in the US Navy, where he trained as a RADAR technician at Treasure Island, California. He honorably served on the USS Salamonie and USS Mississinewa, with deployments that took him to the distant shores of Iceland, Malta, Greece, and Italy, and he earned a National Defense Service Medal.  After his military service, Johnny returned to his roots, working in a steel mill in Pennsylvania. However, the pull of family was strong, and he came back to Augusta for more opportunities. It was there that he found his true calling as an entrepreneur, purchasing a TV and electronics business which he aptly named Television Electronic Services. His reputation for good work and persistence made his business a cornerstone for electronic needs, especially for the hospitals in Augusta. Johnny's expertise extended well beyond his professional life. He could fix just about anything and was meticulous in everything he did.  He was a Sony dealer for many years and held a steadfast loyalty to the brand. His retirement did not diminish his passion for electronics; rather, it gave him more time to indulge in his love for the outdoors, fishing, and travel.

He and his wife, Kitten, married in 1993 and shared a love for the outdoors and camping in the mountains of North Georgia and Lake Thurmond by traveling weekends in their camper extensively before eventually settling in a home near its shores in Lincoln County over 30 years ago.  They took many fun trips to the Bahamas, Key West, Durango, and the Grand Canyon…from trout fishing to bone fishing, he never found a fishing pole he did not like.  Back home, Johnny's love for animals was evident in his devotion to his many rescue dogs and cats.  He was the quintessential Mr. Fix It, always ready to lend a hand or a tool to neighbors in need. His workshop was a testament to his orderly nature, as was his meticulous care for his vehicles, boat, golf carts, and his John Deere tractor. Neat and tidy, everything had its place.

Johnny lived a life defined by adventure, a knack for fixing anything that was broken, and love of a great joke, and a laugh and a deep love for his family. His legacy of kindness, skill, and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. He will be profoundly missed, by family, and their rescue dog, Molly, but the memories he created will be cherished forever.
