John William Marshall

Lincolnton, Ga. - Mr. John William Marshall, 70 of Poland Rd. died Monday, February 28, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Richmond County to the late Joseph Hartwell and Katherine Allen Marshall, Jr. and has been a resident of Lincoln County since 1992 having moved here from Columbia County. Mr. Marshall had retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation and was an Army veteran. An avid amateur radio operator whose call sign was "WA4KNS", he was a member of the Amateur Radio Club of the CSRA and of Ducks Unlimited. A Baptist by faith, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Evans. Mr. Marshall was predeceased by his son, John William (Billy) Marshall, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Nina Weeks Marshall; sons, Brian Stephen Marshall of Lincolnton, and Jason Christopher Marshall and wife, Hope, of Grovetown; brothers, Dr. Joseph Hartwell Marshall, III of Albany, GA, Allen Daniel (Dan) Marshall of Appling, Rubert Reese (Rusty) Marshall of Evans, and Dr. Jabez Orion (Buddy) Marshall of Cordele, GA, and a grandson, Jacob Aubrey (Jake) Marshall. Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 2nd between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence at 1310 Poland Road. Memorial Services will be announced at a later date.
