John Thomas Irby

J. T. Irby Electrician Thomson, GA. - Mr. J. T. Irby, 86 entered into rest May 24, 2012 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the beloved husband of the late Leola May Irby. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 28, 2012 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Lambert officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Mr. Irby was born in Glascock County, Georgia and was the son of the late Lowie Irby and the late Susie Bales Irby. He served in the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters in the U. S. Navy during WW II. Mr. Irby was retired from civil service at Ft. Gordon as an electrician. He was also a faithful and devoted member of First Baptist Church, Thomson. Survivors include his daughter, Sharon I. Shanley and husband, Dean of Cincinnati, Ohio; sons, Harold Irby and wife, Joanne of Incline Village, NV and Don Irby and wife, Janet of Sugarland, TX; sisters, Mattie Black of Gibson, GA, Lucille Edmonds of Bradenton, FL and 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
