Thomson, GA. - Mr. John Ellis Edmonds, Jr., 77, entered into rest February 20, 2018.

Mr. Edmonds was born in Thomson, GA, the son of the late John Ellis Edmonds, Sr. and the late Robbie Reese Scarber.  He had worked at Uniroyal and as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years.  Mr. Edmonds was a member of the Queen of Angels Catholic Church.  He loved fishing and watching his grandchildren play ball.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Rita Swann Edmonds; sons, Gary Edmonds of Houston, TX and Stephen Edmonds (Vanessa) of Marietta, GA; daughter, Carmen Anderson (Winston Oxford) of Albany, GA; sisters, Shirley Langham of Stapleton, GA, Pat Fleming of Tavares, FL, Sarah Evans and Brenda Lowe of Sanford, FL; and 7 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 o'clock a.m., Thursday, February 22, 2018 in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Father Stephen Lyness officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
