Mitchell, GA – Mr. John Alvin Downs, 59, of Mitchell- Warrenton Rd. entered into rest October 11, 2018.

John was a lifelong resident of Warren County, Georgia. He was retired as a truck driver and enjoyed farming, playing the piano and repairing anything broken. During his truck driving career, John had visited 50 states. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church and the Men's Outreach Sunday School Class. John was predeceased by his father, Alvin T. Downs and brother, Arthur T. Downs.

Survivors include his mother, Nell Downs; and son, Jonathan Downs.

Graveside services will be held at 2p.m., Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Friendship Baptist Cemetery, Mitchell with Rev. Tony Key officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
