Thomson, Georgia – Mr. John Daniel "Danny" Rooks, 48, of Central Rd. Ext. entered into rest March 28, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Sweetwater Baptist Church, Thomson with Rev. J. B. Redd, Rev. Kenneth Garvin and Rev. Grant Cantrell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Travis Rooks, Chris Walker, Tim Williams, Jim Hall, Ryan Bowman and Doug Smith.

Mr. Rooks was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, Georgia. He was a 1982 graduate of Briarwood Academy and was retired as a Mail Clerk from MCG. Mr. Rooks was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. He enjoyed baseball, especially watching the Atlanta Braves.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Stephanie Rooks; mother, Doris B. Rooks and brother, Ray Rooks and wife, Lynne, all of Thomson, GA. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Rooks, Sr.

Memorials may be made to the Sweetwater Baptist Church Renovation Fund, 1606 Wrens Hwy., Thomson, GA 30824.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.

Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
