Dearing, GA- Mr. Joseph Lee "Joey" Portwood, III entered into rest March 07, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Fort Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Phil Bray, Rev. Eddie Renew and Rev. Jim Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Portwood was born in Augusta and lived in McDuffie County many years. He was a siding applicator for Southern Siding. Mr. Portwood was a member of Fort Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and NASCAR.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Jean Portwood; son, Lee Portwood; daughter, Jessica Portwood; sister, Wanda Smith (Ricky) and aunt, Barbara Jordan (Billy); nieces, Christian Powell (Jason), Crystal Norris (Brett), Lily Craven; nephew, RC Smith (Randi); great niece, Emma Powell, Mallary Powell; great nephew, Brett, Jr.; mother in law, Becky Craven and brother in law, Scotty Craven. Joey was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Lee Portwood,Jr. and Barbara Kennedy Portwood.

Friends may call the residence of Becky Craven, 6344 Luckey's Bridge Rd., Dearing, GA or the family will receive friends from 2 until 3:00 p.m., Sunday prior to the service.
Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, GA is in charge of arrangements.
