Joe J. Brown

Thomson, Georgia -Mr. Joe J. Brown, 75, of Jeanette Street entered into rest February 28, 2015.

Mr. Brown was born in McCormick, SC and was the son of the late Mack Brown and the late Louise Reese Brown. He lived in Thomson most of his life and was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and the outdoors. Mr. Brown was a Methodist by faith. Survivors include his sons, Gene Brown and wife, Johnnie of Norwood, Jeff Brown and wife, Scarlett of Dearing, Joey Brown of Norwood; loving companion, Ruth Herkel of Thomson; sister, Edna Wallace and husband, Gene; 7 grandchildren, Kelli Durand, Shelby Brown, Angela Brown, Andrew Brown, Kody Brown and Addie Brown and 7 great grandchildren. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Brown Harrison.

A visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2015 at Beggs Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Dr. Phil Bray officiating.
