Thomson, GA- Mr. Joe Lamar Brooks, 76, of Wycliffe Rd. entered into rest April 21, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m, Wednesday, April 23, 2014 in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Tim Ferrell and Barry Whitfield officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Mr. Brooks was born in Jasper, Georgia and was the son of the late A. J. Brooks and the late Mae Walker Brooks. He served in the U. S. Army and the U. S. Air Force. Mr. Brooks lived in Alma, Georgia before moving to Thomson in 1986. He was self employed and was well known for installing vinyl siding, windows and other home improvements.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Bonnie W. Brooks; sons, Derek Brooks and Steven Brooks (Lisa Stevenson); daughter, Tonya Brooks Reed all of Thomson; sister, Carolyn Ratley of Tenille; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by a son, Todd Brooks.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the funeral home.
