Joann Clardy Scott

Mrs. JoAnn Clardy Scott, age 90, wife of the late Johnnie C. Scott of Greenwood, SC entered into rest on the morning of Saturday, December 7, 2024 at McCormick Post Acute with her two daughters by her side. Born in Ware Shoals, SC, on June 27th, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Dora Evans Clardy.

JoAnn and J.C. married on February 23, 1952. She held many titles - Daughter, Sister, Wife, Aunt, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, but was most affectionately known to her family as Granny. She was happiest with a house full of guests gathered around the table in her kitchen and always had an open door that welcomed many over the years. She and J.C. loved gardening, fishing, and were always ready to jump in the car to go on an adventure. Diagnosed with kidney cancer a couple of years ago, she spent her last three months in recovery at McCormick Post Acute where she was given loving care by the staff and therapists, enjoyed Bingo, prayer service, made new friends, enjoyed daily visits from family and friends, and looked forward to frequent visits from family friend Viola Freeman who always made sure she was properly hydrated.

JoAnn is survived by her son Johnnie Scott of Greenwood, SC, daughter Joy Bonds (Terry) of Lincolnton, GA, daughter Jan Scott of Greenwood, SC, sister Judy Williams (Don) of Warner Robins, GA, brother Jerry Clardy of Warner Robins, GA, grandchildren Allen Bonds (Nick Rountree) of Charleston, SC, Jason Bonds of Lincolnton, GA, Gage Drummond of Greenwood, SC, Morgan Kelley of Greenwood, SC, and four (soon to be five) great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 14th, at 11 am at First Assembly of God, 328 May Avenue, Lincolnton, GA with Reverends Terry Bonds and Lanis Lewis presiding, special remarks from her great-niece, Dyan Clary, and grandson, Allen Bonds. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Benevolent Fund. Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Joan Clardy Scott..
