Thomson, GA- Mrs. Joan Russell Hawkins, 71,  entered into rest July 12, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 14, 2013 in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Butch Baston officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Hawkins was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Raymond Russell and the late Grace Curry Russell. She was retired as a floral designer and worked with Broome's Florist, Green Leaf Florist and Wal-Mart for many years. Mrs. Hawkins was also a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Janie Cason and husband, Chuck and Diane Coke both of Thomson; son, Andy Hawkins of Appling; brother, Roy Russell and wife, Patsy; grandchildren, Dana Richliew, Kimberly Heath, Stacy Cason, Michael Coke, Jr. and great grandchildren, Yasmine Heath and Taylor Coke. Mrs. Hawkins was preceded in death by a son, William Edward Hawkins, Jr.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:00 p.m., Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
