Jo Helen Frazer
Thomson, GA-Jo Helen Ansley Frazer went home to be with her Savior on March 6, 2014. She was born in Thomson, GA in 1934 but spent most of her younger life in Aiken SC. She married Nathan Hix Frazer, Jr. She was a retired Administrative Assistant from Georgia Regional Hospital. Jo Helen was a long time member of Sweetwater Baptist Church where she served in numerous roles including as a choir member, Sunday School Director and teacher. She also served many years as the Sunday school teacher for the residents of Watson Manor and Thomson Manor Nursing Home. Since the onset of her illness she has attended Second Baptist Church with her daughter. She served for many years as a McDuffie Regional Hospital pink lady.
Mrs. Frazer is preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Frazer, Jr., her parents James M. Ansley and Phenie Porter Ansley and brother, Gene Ansley.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Frazer Thigpen and her husband Lynn; her daughter Carol Frazer McTier and her husband Troy; six grandchildren, Joshua McTier, Matthew McEver, Hannah McTier, Paden McTier, Jenny Lynn Evans and Adam Thigpen; and two great-grandchildren Lillian Evans and Riley McEver. One
brother, Hugh Ansley and wife, Ann, nephews Mickey Ansley and wife Becky, Terry Ansley and wife Sharon, Mark Ansley, and niece Jacqueline Ansley, brother in law, Tommy Frazer, along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Frazer was a woman devoted to her Lord, family and friends. She welcomed into her home many children who soon called her Mom. She was loved by all who knew her and always made others welcome in her home, at her table and in her heart. Her passing will be felt by many.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Lester Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2014 at the funeral home.
