Jimmy Edward Williams
Thomson, GA –Mr. Jimmy Edward Williams, 58, of Morris Rd. entered into rest November 13, 2015.
Mr. Williams was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, GA. He was the assistant store manager with Lowes for many years, worked as a shift manager with Advance Auto Parts, and was a bus driver for the McDuffie County Board of Education. He also owned and operated the local Sears Store in Thomson for 8 years. He served as a volunteer fireman and was currently the Assistant Chief with 44 years of total service. Mr. Williams was a member of Second Baptist Church. Mr. Williams was predeceased by his father, Edward Williams, Jr.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Debra Williams; daughter, Mikki Leggett (Calvin); son, Jimmy Williams, Jr. (Michelle); mother, Betty D. Williams; sister Donna Brooks (Michael) and grandchildren, Jordan Leggett, Emily Leggett, Emily Greene; nephew, Michael Brooks, Jr. (Brittany); niece, Casey Brooks (A.J.); great niece, Anna Beth Brooks; brother in law, Mike Newman; and special friend, Lori Gibson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock p.m., Monday, November 16, 2015 at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Lester Jenkins and Rev. Tim Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery with Masonic Rites. Pallbearers will be: Chris Reid, Rick Sewell, Raymond Brinkley, Paul Johnson, Bubba Gibson, Mike Newman. Honorary pallbearers will be: members of the Fire Department and Masonic Lodge.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m., Sunday at the Thomson Fire Department, 228 McCommons Street, Thomson, GA.
