Jimmy Ray Quarles

Rev. Jimmy Ray Quarles Thomson, Ga. - Jimmy Ray Quarles, 74 of Watkinsville,Ga. entered into rest October 8, 2009. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Wood Quarles. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Michael Newman, Morris Bryant and Ernest Fulcher officiating. Interment will follow in Oconee Memorial Park in Watkinsville. Mr. Quarles was born in Lincoln County but lived most of his life in Watkinsville, Ga. . He was the son of the late George Quarles and the late Betty McKellar Quarles. Mr. Quarles served in the U. S. Army and was retired as owner and operator of Quarles Upholstery. He served as the minister for the Word of God Tabernacle in Mableton, Ga. for over 25 years. Survivors include sons, Tim Quarles and his wife Lisa of Lincolnton, Micah Quarles and his wife Michelle of Colorado; daughters, Shirley Batchelor of Athens, Linda Alewine and her husband Bud of Lexington; brothers, John Quarles of Athens, Terry Quarles of Crawford and Charles Quarles of Florida. Mr. Quarles was preceded in death by a daughter Sharon Newman. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
