Life Legacy

Jimmy Vernon Hinton Thomson, GA. - Mr. Jimmy Vernon Hinton, 71, of Beulah Lane, entered into rest March 29, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock p.m. , Monday, April 2, 2012 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. James Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Al Culpepper, Chris Culpepper, Bobby Harris, Terry Johnson, Sammy McCorkle, Bobby Newsome, Neal Ray, Marvin Shelton and Bobby Ficklen. Jimmy was born in Wilkes County, grew up in Warren County, but lived in Thomson most of his life. He was the son of the late Albert Vernon Hinton and the late Helen Hinton Adams. He graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1964 with BS and BA degrees. He was employed with Georgia Pacific for eighteen years and with Timberman for eleven years. Jimmy was a 2nd Lt with the National Guard having served for six years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Thomson. Survivors include his wife, Bonita Hinton; son, J. Porter Hinton and wife, Christina of Crofton, MD.; daughter, Helen Hinton of Louisville, KY.; sister, Nancy Culpepper Garrison and husband, Steve of Augusta, GA; step-sons, Roy Brunner and wife, Trinda of Dalton, GA., Robbie Brunner and wife, Liz of Thomson, GA., Rodney Brunner of Thomson, GA. and Richie Brunner and wife, Jennifer of Warrenton, GA; step-daughter, Tami Perkins and husband, David of Thomson, GA.; grandchildren, Addy Hinton, Thomas Hinton, Ryan Brunner, Brandi Brown, Jamie Smith, Sara Betts Brunner, Ben Brunner, Allison Brunner, Rosemary Brunner, Kristen Perkins, Cameron Perkins, Austin Whitehouse, Grace Brunner, Crystal Grier, Jeremy Grier and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Smith and Carson Smith. It is the family's desire that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 1205, Thomson, GA 30824.
