Savannah,  Georgia- Mr. Jimmy T. Ansley, 71, formerly of Thomson entered into rest January 2, 2016.

Mr. Ansley was born in Savannah, Georgia to the late Talmadge Ansley and the late Ouida Durrence Ansley. He served in the U. S. Army. Mr. Ansley lived in Thomson, GA for many years and retired as the Electro-Mechanics teacher at Thomson High School with 28 years of service. He was a former member of Thomson First United Methodist Church where he had taught the JOY Sunday School Class, OSME Sunday School Class and the Faith Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was also active in the Thomson First United Methodist Church Honduras Mission Trip for 11 years. Mr. Ansley moved to Savannah, GA over a year ago and was a member of the Wilmington Island United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ansley was predeceased by siblings, Gene Ansley, Ray Ansley and Debra Ansley.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Libby B. Ansley; daughters, Brooke O'Gara of Nevada, Holly Ansley of California, Robin Meehan of Colorado; step daughter, Brooke Barnes of Savannah; brother, Bill Ansley of Waynesboro, GA and 7 grandchildren, Danielle O'Gara, Jimmy O'Gara, Mathew Bachelder, Sadie Meehan, Chloe Meehan, Dylan Gardner and Noah Gardner.

Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Thomson First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Barnes officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Faith Fellowship Sunday School Class. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

It is the family's request that memorial contributions be made to Honduras Missions c/o Thomson First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 8, Thomson, GA 30824.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
