Jerry Pennington Quarles

Jerry Pennington Quarles, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in Augusta, Georgia, on September 7, 2023. He was 66 years old. Jerry was born on March 18, 1957, in Lincolnton, Georgia, to the late Johnie Blanchard Quarles and Maudie Ashmore Quarles. Throughout his life, Jerry was known for his friendly spirit, handy skills, and a work ethic that was second to none. Jerry devoted over four decades of his life to his roofing business, "Jerry Quarles Roofing," demonstrating his commitment to his work and community. As his health began to deteriorate, Jerry transitioned into a new career as a used car dealer. For five years, he successfully ran "JQ Used Car Ranch," showcasing his adaptability and resilience. In addition to his business ventures, Jerry found joy in his hobbies. He was an avid horse rider and enjoyed trail riding and dirt track racing. His love for these activities was only surpassed by his love for his family and friends. He was of the Baptist faith. Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Johnie and Maudie Quarles, his brothers  Leon, and Charles Quarles, Ray Edward "Buddy" Quarles; his son Jerry Paul Quarles, and his grandson Jacob William Quarles. He is survived by his dear friend Carla Newman of Augusta; his son, Jason Wesley Quarles of Lincolnton; his daughter, Jerrie Ann Quarles of Grovetown; his sister, Moralle McKenzie of Lincolnton; and his brothers, Stanley Quarles of Detroit, Cliatt Quarles of Dearing, and Richard Quarles of Martinez. Jerry also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, who he adored immensely. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 3pm at Lincolnton City Cemetery with a visitation beginning at 1pm at the funeral home until the procession leaves for the graveside service. Following the graveside, a celebration of life will be held at his residence located at 4456 Augusta Hwy., Lincolnton, Ga. Beggs Funeral Home, 200 May Ave., Lincolnton, GA, is honored to serve the family of Mr. Jerry Pennington Quarles.
