Thomson, GA – Mr. Jeffery Wayne "Jeff" Gheesling, 53, of Forrest Clary Drive entered into rest Monday, September 2, 2013.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 4, 2013 in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Bowers officiating.

Mr. Gheesling was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County, Georgia and was a 1978 graduate of Thomson High School. He was a former employee of Georgia Iron Works in the casting department and also worked as a prison guard.  Mr. Gheesling was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his loving wife, Kathy Young Gheesling; daughter, Melissa Gheesling; father, Alton Gheesling; mother, Lynda Parris Gheesling; stepson, Michael Greene; stepdaughter, Tiffany Greene; brother, Alan Gheesling and his wife, Jennie; five grandchildren, one nephew and two nieces.

The family will receive friends following the service.

Donations may be made in Jeff's memory to American Diabetes Association or to the American Cancer Association.

Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
