Jean (Moore) Grant

Jean Moore Grant, 88, of Thomson, GA entered into rest January 18, 2021, at Augusta University Medical Center.

Mrs. Grant was born in Wilkes County, GA to the late Mark Moore and the late Essie West Moore. She was retired and had worked at Kingsley Plant as an office manager for 30 years. Jean was an avid reader, loved cooking, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, doing crossword puzzles, and especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving sister to nine brothers and two sisters.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Edward Lee Grant. Prior to his death, Mrs. Grant was devoted to being his full time caregiver.

Survivors include her three sons, Cary Grant (Mary), Eddie Grant, Tim Grant (Eileen); four grandchildren, Travis Grant (Hannah), Hunter Grant, Madison Grant, Faith Grant; and two great grandchildren, Oscar Grant and Imogene Grant .

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, January 22, 2021 at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens with Dr. David Lambert officiating.

It is the family's desire that memorial contributions be made to the South Carolina Cotton Museum, 121 W. Cedar Lane, Bishopville, S.C. 29010.

Per CDC requirements the family will be observing social distancing.  Masks are required and appreciated. Due to the current national health concern, the family would appreciate your phone calls, cards, texts, and e-mails.
