Jean P. Echols

Mrs. Jean P. Echols of Flat Rock Rd. entered into rest on December 25, 2017 at University Hospital, Augusta.

Mrs. Echols, daughter of the late Amos and Louise Turpin Powell, was a lifelong resident of Wilkes County.  Until a few months ago, nearing her 81 ^st birthday, she was still employed as a seamstress at Platinum Sportswear. Her love was cooking for her family and working in her yard. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Martin Echols, Sr., son-in-law, Raymond Powell, great- granddaughter, Ally Grace Standard, and sister, Betty Truitt.

She is survived by her son, William M. "Billy" Echols, Jr. and wife, Susan of Washington; daughter, Pamela Powell of Kingstree, SC; brother, Jack Powell of Lakeland, Fl., sisters, Lucille Wilkinson of Winterville, Ga., and Oma Greenhill of Goose Creek, SC; grandchildren, John Echols and wife, Allison, Jenny Standard and husband, Jason, Vernon Wise and wife, Nhetz, Matt Wise and wife, Claire, 11 great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on December 28, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Tabor Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the funeral in the church fellowship hall.
