Jane Aldridge Robb

Laura Jane Aldridge Robb, known affectionately as Jane to her friends and family passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025 at Wills Memorial Hospital, Washington.

Born on August 11, 1952, to the late Theron and Daisy Roberson Aldridge, Jane's formative years were spent walking the halls of Washington Wilkes High School, from which she graduated in 1970. Afterwards, she attended Augusta Tech's Business Administration program, an education that would underpin a remarkable career. Throughout her younger years, Jane dedicated her skills to various local businesses, including TE Gaines, Amos Martin, and Dave's TV.

However, it was at the Wilkes County Superior Court Clerk's office that Jane truly found her calling. She served the public for almost 30 years under three clerks from 1994 until 2023, assisting with deeds, plats and court related matters. Her retirement as Chief Deputy Clerk a few years ago marked the end of an era, but her legacy remains embedded in the fabric of the office. Outside of her professional life, Jane was a passionate supporter of her grandchildren, never missing a baseball or softball game they were involved in. Her love for the sport extended to her fervent support of the Atlanta Braves, embodying the spirit of a true fan with every game she watched.

She is survived by her daughter, Gretchen R. Lamar and husband Bruce of Tignall; son, Sid Robb and wife Amanda of Lincolnton; grandchildren, Joseph Crumbley, Alex Lamar, Ty Lamar, Zane Lamar, and Izzie Robb. Her husband, Philip S. Robb, Sr. and grandson, Philip Dyson Robb, preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 2 pm at Tignall Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 1pm in the church sanctuary.
