Jane Granade Prater

Jane Granade Prater, 72, of Laniers Way, Evans, Georgia, entered into rest on July 20, 2022, at her home with her children, a grandchild, and a close friend by her side.

Jane's funeral will be at Goshen Baptist Church in Lincolnton, GA on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM with the emtombment following in the church cemetery.  The visitation will be on July 24, 2022, Sunday evening from 5pm until 7pm at Beggs Funeral Home 200 May Avenue Lincolnton, GA.  Those serving as pallbearers are Jim Adams, Bill Burke, Billy Gibbs, Ernie Guthrie, Charles Rhodes and Louis Robinson.

Mrs. Prater was a native of Wilkes County, Georgia but spent the majority of her life in Lincolnton and Thomson, Georgia raising her three babies and her husband.  She and her husband, Page, married in December of 1967 and shortly thereafter began their family with the birth of their daughter, Andrea.  Leigh and Two followed along quickly in 1970 and 1971.  From that time forward her hands were full taking care of her life's greatest blessings, her babies.

Early in their lives, Mr. and Mrs. Prater embarked on restoring the Blanchard House and with this task, showed how they could take something that was falling in shambles and with the "class" that they both possessed, turned it into something absolutely breathtaking and beautiful.

Later in life, they opened Prater Homes and Prater Transport , where they worked side by side providing housing for those in need.

Her survivors include her daughter, Andrea Porcher Prater, of the home, son and daughter-in-love, Page Robert Prater, II and Kimberly Mathis Prater, Evans, GA and granddaughters, Prater Thigpen Karettis, Statesboro, GA, Riley Jane Robinson, Atlanta, GA, Anna Logan Prater, Evans, GA and Billie Page Brooks, Augusta, GA, brother, Joseph Eugene Granade and sisters-in-law, Kathryn Prater Robinson, Washington, GA and Alicia Reed Prater Lannae, Lincolnton, GA, her favorite nephew, Jerry Louis Robinson, Jr. and niece, Elizabeth Prater Arthur and family, Lincolnton, GA.  Along with her parents, Mrs. Prater was preceded in death by her loving husband, Page Robert Prater(1946-2006), and her beautiful daughter, Elizabeth Leigh Prater(1970-2016).
