James Williford

James Williford of Lundburg Rd., Washington passed, away peacefully on September 22, 2024, in Augusta, Georgia, at the age of 72. Born on February 4, 1952, in McDuffie County, he grew up in the Bastonville Community in Glascock County in his early years then moved back to McDuffie County, where he graduated from Thomson High School in 1970. He also served in the US Army National Guard. James, known for his strong work ethic and handy skills, made a significant impact in his professional life. He served as a maintenance supervisor and then as the plant manager at Hollander Home Fashions in years past. In addition to his professional accomplishments, James was a certified electrician, a testament to his wide-ranging abilities and his commitment to lifelong learning. In recent years, James found joy in offering his services to the community, providing home repair and handyman services as well as light commercial and industrial maintenance and repair.  One of his accomplishments that he was proud of was renovations on the Methodist Church in Sharon both inside and out which included removing the bell from the top of the church and mounting it on the church grounds.  James's passion for the outdoors was a significant part of his life. In years past, he relished the time spent hunting and fishing. His love for animals was equally evident, especially in his affection for his two blue heelers, Sassy and Sam. These loyal companions were a source of great happiness and comfort to him. James is survived by his life partner of over 20 years, Pamela Pittman, and his daughter, Nicole W. Partridge, and her husband, Mark, of Appling. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Elizabeth Williford, and Eva Mae Snelling, as well as his sister, Joy W. Holtz. James's memory will be cherished and kept alive by the stories and laughter he shared with those who knew him best.
