James Edward "Ed" Williams
Thomson, GA. – Mr. James Edward "Ed' Williams, 92, of Virginia Ave. NE entered into rest April 23, 2017 at the VA Medical Center, Augusta.
Mr. Williams was born in Jefferson County, Georgia to the late Thomas Hubert Williams and the late Hattie Lamb Williams. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Mr. Williams worked at Roberts Plymouth for several years and retired from the Graniteville Company. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and in his youth he loved to race stock cars.
Survivors include his wife, Geneva Williams; daughter, Carolyn Williams Morris and son-in-law, Michael Morris of Evans, GA; sisters, Christine Selby of Oklahoma and Geraldine Chalker of Hephzibah, GA; grandchildren, Brian Peck and Jason Peck and great grandchildren, Kayla Peck, Logan Peck, Evan Peck and Cameron Peck and many nieces and nephews.
It is the family's desire that memorial contributions be made to the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center's Fisher House, 1 Freedom Way, Augusta, GA 30904.
There will be no service at this time.
Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
