James Lamar Porter, 89, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on November 8, 2022.

James was born in Thomson, Georgia on April 12, 1933, and lived in Thomson, Georgia most of his life.  He served his County in the U.S. Army and worked in the pulpwood industry for many years.  James enjoyed just getting out and riding in his vehicle to take in the scenery and loved spending time with his friends and family.

James was preceded in death by his parents, James T. Porter and Nellie Irene Shirley Porter.  His survivors include his daughter, June Beiter (Carl) of Newport News, Virginia; his sisters, Paulene Vergeer and Irene Trappe and his niece, Kim Barnett.
