Mr. James Harold (Jimmy) Pope, of Lincoln Ave., died Monday, July 29 ^th at Trinity Hospital, Augusta.

Mr. Pope, the son of the late Albert and Daisy Norton Pope, was a native of Hope Mills, NC and had lived here since 1988.  A member of Loco Baptist Church, he was a veteran of the US Marine Corp and had retired as a painter.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Raymond Norton, Jr., and a sister, Cathy Cain.

Memorial services will held on Thursday, August 1 ^st at 2:00 p.m. at Loco Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Martin Pope; three daughters: Teresa Davis of Martinez, Tonia Sweeney & husband, Rob, of Thomson, and Jamie Stafford & husband, Jay, of Lincolnton; three sisters: Peggy Miller of Hope Mills, NC, Caroline King of Fayetteville, NC, and Sandra Miller of Holden Beach, NC; along with nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a dear family friend, Marion Bohler.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Walton Foundation for Independence, Camp TBI, 1355 Independence Drive, Augusta, GA  30901.
