JAMES C. PHILLIPS RETIRED CIVIL SERVICE MR. JAMES C. PHILLIPS 82 of Pylant Crossing Thomson, GA entered into rest May 08, 2007 at McDuffie Regional Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Jessie Hillman Phillips. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 12, 2007 at Reedy Creek Baptist Church with Revs. John Jenkins and Mike Sutphin officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thad Johnson, Alan Johnson, John Reed, Bobby Phillips, Greg Phillips, Dennis Phillips, L. M. Wiley and Sport Wiley. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Reedy Creek Baptist Church-. Mr. Phillips was a native of McDuffie County and the son of the late John and Essie Tudor Phillips.. He was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church, served as a deacon for 35 years, and a member of the Men's Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Trucking Association of GA , National Assoc. of Retired Federal Employees and the Farm Bureau. Survivors include: Wife – Jessie Hillman Phillips Son – James Edward Phillips- Thomson, GA Brothers – John (Dee) Phillips- Port Arthur, Texas, Gene Phillips- Columbus, GA, Jack Phillips- Wrens, GA Sisters – Ida Belle Remsen-Lincolnton, GA, Dovie Reed- Lincolnton, GA, Doris Harwell-Virginia Beach,VA The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm at the funeral home.
