James Carroll Hulsey

James Carroll "Jimmy" Hulsey, age 76, husband of 31 years to Elaine Hunnicutt Hulsey, went home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2022.

Mr. Hulsey was born in Athens, Ga to the late Bennett and Margaret Hulsey.  He was an United States Army Veteran having served in Vietnam.  He retired from the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center as a carpenter with 30 years of service.  Mr. Hulsey, and his love of horses included, trail riding, showing horses and barrel racing.  He was affectionately known as " Custer", "Hulsey" and mostly "Cowboy".   If you knew Cowboy, then you knew he called everyone "Will", because he could not remember names.  He was a Cowboy, through and through!

He is survived by his wife, Elaine H. Hulsey;  three daughters, Christina Hulsey (John) and Jody Hulsey of Jessup, Ga.,  and Jamie Simmons (Justin) of Thomson, Ga.; one sister, Marsha Hulsey of Martinez, Ga.;  five grandsons and four granddaughters and four great-granddaughters.

A time of Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 from 2:00 PM unto 4:00 PM at Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, GA  30824.
