James "Jimmy" Hubert Hawkins

James "Jimmy" Hubert Hawkins, 75, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on July 18, 2022.

Jimmy was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on August 8, 1946, grew up in Thomson, Georgia, graduated from Thomson High School and established his career in logging working alongside his brother Allen Hawkins.  He served as a supervisor with Hawkins Logging for most of his career.  Jimmy enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and loved spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Hawkins is preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Kathy Kelley Hawkins; his father, Hubert Allen Hawkins; his daughters, Kathy Gilmer and Yvonne Sandifer and his sister, Cheryl Anna Hawkins.  His survivors include his mother, Audrey McAloney Hawkins; his son, Ben Hawkins (Stephanie); his brother, Allen Hawkins (Kitty); his grandchildren, Daymon Linkous, Olivia Lewis, Chase Gilmer, Cole Wright, Kyle Wright, Kaitlyn Ramsey, Ashlyn Sandifer, Dexter Hawkins and Anthony Hawkins, nieces and nephews and various family members in England and Ireland.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 5, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Beggs Funeral Home.  A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at Westview Cemetery, Thomson, Georgia, being officiated by Rev.
