Life Legacy

James W. Disney Augusta, GA. - Mr. James W. Disney, 85, entered into rest December 8, 2012 at University Hospital, McDuffie. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the Christ Church Unity, Central Ave., Augusta with Rev. Michael Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Augusta. Mr. Disney was a native of Coal Creek, Tennessee and served in the U. S. Army during World War II in Germany and France. After the war he married the late Betty Jenkins Disney and they resided in Augusta for many years. Mr. Disney was a retired chemical operator from Savannah River Plant with over 34 years of service. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans Berry Benson Camp in North Augusta, SC. Survivors include his son, Glenn W. Disney and Louise Stewart of Hephzibah; daughter, Melanie (Blackwell) Cushman and husband, Mike of Thomson; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Miras, Julie Disney and Jacob Disney and two great grandchildren, Austin Miras and Mason Chaney. Memorials may be made to the Sons of the Confederate Veterans Berry Benson Camp #1672, 131 River Club Lane, North Augusta, SC 29841. Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson is in charge of arrangements.
