Mr. James Edward "Jimmy" Deason, Sr. 77 of Augusta Hwy. entered into rest on Sunday, October 28th at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 30th at 3 p.m. at Lincolnton Baptist Church with Revs. Dan Rosser and Ficklen Guin officiating. Interment will follow in Lincolnton City Cemetery. Mr. Deason, son of the late Manley and Gladys Brown Deason, was born in Atlanta. Along with his parents, he moved to Lincolnton in 1937. In 1952, he attended Georgia Tech and due to the death of his father, returned home to run the family grocery and feed store until retirement in 1987. He was a member of Lincolnton Baptist Church where he had served as Deacon. Also, Mr. Jimmy was knowledgeable in local history , was a Lewis Family fan, and enjoyed listening to Blues and Bluegrass Survivors: Wife of 55 years: Mary Frances Deason Sons: Eddie Deason, Tignall,Ga Richard Deason, and wife, Christine of Saluda, SC Daughter: Fran Deason, Lincolnton Sister: Donna Simcox, Ivey, Ga Grandchildren: Matthew Deason, Kara Deason, and Ashley Deason
