James Durham Cranford, 69, husband of Donna Hiles Smith Cranford, of Easley, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023.

Born in Thomson, GA, he was the son of the late Sara James and Newton Cranford, Sr.

Mr. Cranford was a retired carpenter and owner/operator of Hands On Construction and attended Pendleton Street Baptist Church. He loved gardening, fishing, and talking with anyone who would lend an ear. He truly never met a stranger.

In addition to his loving wife of almost 21 years, Mr. Cranford is survived by a son, Korey Cranford (Wendy) of Wrens, GA; a daughter, Bridgett Turpin of Loganville, GA; a brother, Newton Cranford, Jr. (Charla); sisters, Marcia Cranford (Wayne), Debbie Crosby (Jimmy), and Marilyn Morris; a sister-in-law, Barbara Griffith (Stan); grandchildren, Gracie and Weslee Turpin, and Aubrie, Jace, and Karter Cranford; and numerous other loving family members.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, Downtown.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the funeral home.
