Thomson, Georgia -Mr. James William Chastain, 85, of Lincolnton Hwy. entered into rest March 2, 2015 at the GA War Veterans Home.
Mr. Chastain was a native of Lincoln County, GA but lived in McDuffie County most of his life. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Chastain was a retired Supervisor from Kingsley Mills with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Charles Chastain (Cindy) of Lincolnton; daughters, Colleen Chastain of Lincolnton, Elaine Gay (Gene) of Wrens; niece, MaryAnne Matthews (Randall) of Lincolnton; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Mr. Chastain was preceded in death by a son, William Edward
" Yogi" Chastain.
Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2015 in the chapel of Beggs Funeral Home, Thomson with Rev. Seaborn Dell officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Thursday prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
